This was a highly successful collaboration between HLN and our Maltese colleagues Bezzina & Cole. HSBC’s internationally recognised brand and standards were matched with local expertise, legislation and building techniques to create a mix of new build and refurbished space for this impressive headquarters and flagship building.

This crowded site was already occupied by the client and all works had to be phased with staff decanted to other buildings on and off site as the works progressed.

The phased works included demolition of a three storey IT block and construction of a new front of house tower plus multi storey car park (largely underground to reduce impact). The finished complex incorporates all aspects of an international banking hub from specialist IT installations, open plan work floors, high security storage, conference rooms and reception area.

The scheme was handed over on time and on budget with an excellent health and safety record during construction. In parallel with this scheme we piloted and then oversaw the roll out of a complete branch network refurbishment and re-branding exercise.
