In 2015, HLN formed an alliance with three other architectural practices to form Four Architecture & Design LLP (4AD).  Working as an alliance 4AD was successful in winning a Framework Tender with Nationwide Building Society. We were appointed for the delivery of their new concept branches, working as part of a larger alliance of Designers, Contractors, Consultants, Stakeholder’s and other professionals. The alliance was tasked with transforming Nationwide’s 645 branches into a network of retail banking facilities that are designed to meet the challenges of the 21st century and the advances in modern technology and communications. The aim is to break away from the impersonal and austere layouts of traditional banks and building societies and enhance Nationwide’s pledge to ‘Build Society’ nationwide by encouraging and bringing staff to the fore and removing physical barriers in favour of a more open, friendly, welcoming space.
