Planning Permission has been granted for our proposed mixed use residential and office space development for Pembrokeshire County Council at Charles Street, Milford Haven.

The development will comprise 12 one-bedroom flats and 3 two-bedroom flats for the elderly over three storeys, together with a local office space for Pembrokeshire County Council’s Housing Team and basement car parking.  

A number of design features have been incorporated to respond to the specific needs of the resident group, including a central mobility scooter store at ground floor, internal community and a rooftop terrace and garden to provide safe and secure outdoor community space.  Flat layouts have been designed for compliance with Lifetime Homes standards and good practice guidance for dementia friendly design and sight loss.  

The building design responds to the existing character of the street in terms of form, scale and materials whilst creating a building which is contemporary and immediately recognizable.  The office space has tall and expansive fenestration to the whole of its frontage on Charles Street to reflect the existing shopfronts to other retail and commercial properties within the street and to create a connection with the street.  Natural slate cladding was chosen as the finish for the mass of the building envelope for its proven performance qualities as well as its aesthetics and connection with the locality.
